The unnamed lady in the photo was a "Sangley"- Spaniard mestizo (Sangley is the term describing anyone who is mixed Chinese and "Indio" or indigenous Filipino) taken in 1875 by the Spanish - speaking Dutch photographer, Francisco van Camp, who settled in the Philippines and was among the first to put up photography business in the country during the Spanish colonial period
